✈️ What The ‘Boeing’

Suicides, mislead investors and whistleblowers oh my…

Boeing Trying to Whistle Its Way Out of Trouble…

Boeing seems to be channeling its inner cheerleader lately. After a series of safety snafus, they're celebrating their latest whistleblower.

Amid safety concerns, the deaths of two Boeing whistleblowers continue to raise alarm. Despite this, Boeing's public acknowledgment of whistleblowers clashes with the recent fatalities. Over 25,000 people petition the DOJ to investigate these deaths.

  • Joshua Dean, a quality auditor at a Boeing supplier, died from an illness shortly after speaking out.

  • John Barnett, a Boeing employee, died by suicide after testifying about faulty oxygen masks.

Triple Threat! FAA, DOJ, and SEC All Investigating Boeing…

✈️ 🔍 Boeing's 787 Dreamliner inspections got a bit nightmarish. Some tests were skipped, prompting the FAA to say "Uh oh, gotta check those wings again!" Boeing assures everyone it's a minor issue and no planes will be grounded. “Expect duct tape and bubblegum to be the new standard for flight repairs.”

⚖️ 💔 Boeing crash victim families invited to DOJ meeting about possible criminal charges. DOJ to decide if Boeing violated a deal that avoided prosecution for the 737 Max crashes. Families argue Boeing hasn't cooperated and new safety incidents raise concerns. Meeting set for May 31st.

📉 ✈️ The SEC is investigating whether Boeing misled investors about safety after a 737 MAX went panel-less mid-flight. Looks like Boeing's promises of smooth skies are about as reliable as a used car salesman.

🚀 🔧 Houston, we have a problem...Boeing's Starliner spaceship was all set to blast off with two astronauts on board, but was grounded by a faulty valve. Maybe they should offer a "frequent flyer" program for disappointed astronauts?

  • 📉 Boeing's stock is in a nosedive - down -31.52% YTD

Imagine building a giant metal bird that carries hundreds of people and then being like, "Eh, close enough, nobody will notice a missing wing bolt or two." That's the vibe Boeing's giving off right now.

✈️ 🐍 We Need Samuel L. Jackson

You got what in your pants?

Jungle Book Snake GIF

🐍 ✈️ Sir what’s that in your pants? TSA officers at Miami International Airport encountered a scenario straight out of a Hollywood movie! A passenger attempted to board a flight with a surprising entourage of snakes!

  • They were inside a sunglasses pouch, but keen-eyed officers caught them before they could cause any in-flight chaos. 🕶️ 👀 This wasn’t the first time someone's tried to sneak snakes onboard. “emotional support animal my as@”

In the words of Samuel L. Jackson, "Enough is enough! I have had it with these mutha-freaking snakes on this mutha-freaking plane!" 😎

Other Air Affairs

  • 🥊 Ted Christie, CEO of Spirit Airlines, took the stage (well, conference call) to roast the airline industry. He threw shade at the "Big 4" carriers, for hogging profits like they're at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Leaving budget airlines scrambling for crumbs.

  • 🚓 Busted! Four flight attendants used their crew-member privileges like an express lane to smuggle $8 million worth of drug money. Now, instead of jet-setting around the world, these "high flyers" are facing a one-way trip to jail. ”Talk about carry-on karma”

  • 🆔 The battle for our faces is heating up. TSA's facial recognition tech is under fire, much like the Real ID program. Senator Jeff Merkley, biometrics' old foe, says it's a privacy nightmare. Looks like our faces—and IDs—are in for a bumpy ride!

Porto Alegre’s Salgado Filho International Airport

🌧️ First, it was Dubai; now, Rio Grande do Sul. A devastating storm has left Porto Alegre’s Salgado Filho International Airport submerged, halting all operations until May 30. With over 7.5 million annual passengers, this major hub is facing severe disruptions.

⚠️ Heads up, travelers! The U.S. State Department has issued a Level 2 travel advisory for Germany, suggesting we "exercise increased caution" due to potential terrorism threats. While Germany is still a top spot for beer fests and heritage tours, maybe it's wise to stay alert at tourist spots.

Northern Lights Down South

Northern lights seen from South Carolina

  • A powerful geomagnetic storm caused the northern lights (aurora borealis) to be visible much farther south than usual, reaching as far as Florida and Oklahoma on Friday night.
